The minutes of March 23 were read and approved.

President Richard Boland: Invited all to check the photos displayed by Barbara McCoy and Vicki Kay the new historians. Richard introduced Ronnie Smith the new Extension Administrative Assistant who will be working closely with the BCMGVA. Arlene Hubner and Jan Denney were thanked for providing refreshments for meeting. New class members were welcomed and encouraged to invite other class members. All members were asked to check personal information on members list for accuracy especially email addresses. It was also suggested that BCMGVA emails be unblocked in order to receive all information sent.

Vice President Shirley Waggoner-Eisenman: State Conference invitations will be mailed June 1. There is a discount on registration fee if received by August 1st.
Reunion Social - Two volunteers from each class have been requested to research names and current addresses for accuracy on members list and others wishing to volunteer were asked to sign on back of sheet. Charlie Spencer and Linda Lemieux will document current paid members with all class lists. Charlie will try to have an updated membership list for distribution at the next general meeting. Call Gina at the Extension office with name of the non member spouse/ significant other.

Treasures Linda Lemieux: Richard mentioned the audit of the BCMGVA has been completed. The auditor offered ideas for future bookkeeping of the organization. Linda referred to the financial report which had been given to all members present and reminded all that dues must be paid to remain in the organization. The report was approved as received.

Coordinator Charlie Spencer: Thanked all for volunteering for the successful Leland School project. Future events - there is a televised pest and disease seminar at BCC Leland extension on Tuesday, May 2 from 10:00 - 12:00. This seminar and all written pest reports found in the hot line office offer valuable information when working the hot line. Remember to volunteer for the hot line.
The recent plant sale was a great success and asked for volunteers to sign up for the next one which will be May 18, 19 and 20. Seminars at Hickmon Cross Roads will be presented by Richard Boland on May 15 and another seminar is planned at Sea Trail Garden Club presented by Hilton Holcomb for some time in May. On May 4th there is a seminar on ponds at the Extension center from 8:30-3:30. Fee is $13 and lunch will be included. Charlie asked for volunteers to help at the Brunswick Fair, this Saturday held at the Park across from Bellville Elementary School.

Committees: Ash Tyler reported on the great success of the 1st plant sale of 06. He thanked all the volunteers especially the amount of new class members and felt the new labeler was a great benefit. If members had suggestions regarding future plant sales they were asked to speak with Ash directly.

Special recognition:
John Kellett was recognized for his photographic work for the MG association with a check and told there would be money appropriated in the budget for future photographic costs. The pictures John has taken offer a wonderful historical perspective of the BCMGVA.

The meeting was adjourned following a program on turf diseases given by Dr. Lane Tredway.

Respectfully submitted,
Cathie Rod, Recording Secretary
