President, Richard Boland called the meeting to order at 9:05 a.m. In attendance: Richard Boland, Shirley Waggoner-Eisenman, David Barkley, Ash Tyler, and Cathie Rod
General Information:
Recognition Banquet changed to June 28 luncheon. After out guest speaker, Lucy Bradley, there will be a presentation of certificates and the luncheon.
Hort Agent, David Barkley:
David had received incomplete invoices from our proposed February guest speaker which were sent to Al Smith for payment.
Turf class begins today with only 5 members. Others may join doing make up sessions with new MG class. Plant ID class will begin the end of March.
Work continues in all gardens with additional work on the water feature in the Botanical garden.
Over 15,000 pounds of pesticides were received at the extension disposal day program.
David reported that at the State Annual Cooperative Extension conference he learned there are higher expectations for all local extension centers and will apprise the MG how this will affect the association.
David also suggested getting Lomandra grass from Tinga nursery for sale at the April MG plant sale.
There were approximately 20 people at the St James pruning seminar and 15 at River Run.
Vice President, Shirley Waggoner-Eisenman:
Shirley attended the new MG classes and invited students to attend the March MG general meeting. Richard Boland will attend the March 20 MG class.
Greenhouse, Ash Tyler:
The greenhouse will have lots of tomato plants for the April sale as well as annuals and perennials.
Ash was told the current MG class would be working in the greenhouse on April 3 & 4 as a hands on learning session.
President, Richard Boland:
Richard will get times from Charlie Spencer to stuff bags for WB Home & Garden Show and volunteer schedule.
Richard and Hilton Holcomb are doing seminars at County libraries.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:45.
